Last updated September 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how NiftyBot LLC (“NiftyBot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and otherwise processes personal information in connection with the June mobile application, the june.fm website, and any related products, features and services (collectively, the “Services”). NiftyBot is the controller of personal information processed under this Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us.
- Account information: your email address (including an Apple private relay address), your account ID, and an optional first name. You sign in with Apple or with an email address and password. The first time you sign in with Apple and share your name, June keeps only your first name; you can change it in Account. When you share your June link, the people you send it to see your first name on the invite and its page.
- Profile and preference information, such as your time zone, language, what you tell June you want to hear when you set up the app, the shows you follow (“Regulars”), the collections you create (“Flows”) and your settings.
- Content you submit, such as your June Chat messages, the titles of your Flows, your search queries, and any feedback or support requests. We process search queries to return results; we do not store them with your account.
- Voice. When you speak to June, Apple’s speech recognition turns your voice into text, on your device when available and otherwise on Apple’s servers under Apple’s privacy policy. June’s servers receive only the text, never the audio.
- Contact form. When you write to us through june.fm/contact, we receive your name, email address, message and the country your request came from.
- Transaction information. June does not currently offer purchases. If we add them, we may collect the products you purchase, prices, dates and payment status. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processors, including Apple, and are not stored by us.
Information collected automatically.
- Listening and usage information, such as episodes you play, skip, finish, seek within, replay, download or remove; playback position; your listening history, Regulars and Flows; interactions with features, screens and content; and the dates, times and duration of your activity.
- Device and connection information, such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP address (for example, country or region), device type, operating system, app version, language settings, and device and other identifiers. June does not collect advertising identifiers.
- Log, diagnostic and performance information, such as crash reports, error logs and service performance data.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, software development kits (SDKs) and similar technologies on the Services, as described in Section 6.
Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from Apple and other sign-in providers, payment processors, analytics providers and other business partners, and we obtain publicly available information such as podcast feeds and related metadata.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, maintain and support the Services, including creating and managing your account, building Flows, recommending and playing content, generating spoken briefings, and responding to your requests in June Chat.
- To personalize the Services, including learning your listening preferences and tailoring content, recommendations and features to you.
- To rank and understand shows and episodes across all listeners, using aggregated listening activity.
- To develop, train, test and improve the Services, June Chat and recommendations, and new products and features.
- To conduct analytics and research, including measuring usage, engagement and performance.
- To process transactions, subscriptions and payments, if we offer them.

We may create aggregated, de-identified or anonymized information from personal information and use and disclose it for any lawful purpose.
3. Ask June and recommendations
Automated systems, including language models provided by third parties, currently OpenAI and OpenRouter, process your messages to produce answers and recommendations. When you use June Chat, receive a briefing or use other automated features, we send your inputs and relevant information about your account and listening activity (for example, your Regulars, Flows and recent episodes) to these providers to generate responses, text and synthesized speech. We process your search queries the same way to return results and recommendations. We may retain, review and use inputs and outputs, including through quality monitoring tools such as Langfuse, which receives chat inputs and outputs linked to your account ID, to operate, secure and improve the Services. These providers process this information on our behalf and not for their own purposes. Answers, recommendations and other automatically generated output may be inaccurate or incomplete.
4. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers that process information on our behalf, including providers of hosting, database and authentication services, background processing, language model and speech services, quality monitoring, network, content delivery and security services, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, email delivery and payment processing. Today these include Supabase (authentication and database), OpenAI and OpenRouter (June Chat and search), Langfuse (quality monitoring of June Chat responses), Trigger.dev (background processing), and Cloudflare (website hosting, security and our contact form). When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the personal information associated with it in our production systems, except where retention is required or permitted by law. To prevent abuse of free offers, we keep a one-way hash of your Apple sign-in identifier after you delete your account, and we use Apple’s DeviceCheck to record on Apple’s servers whether your device has had a June account. Information held in backups, logs and systems of our service providers is deleted in accordance with their retention schedules.
6. Cookies, Tracking and Advertising
June does not currently show ads or track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If we introduce advertising, we will update this Privacy Policy and ask for your permission where the law or Apple requires it, including under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework.
We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, SDKs and similar technologies to operate the Services, keep you signed in, remember your preferences and understand usage. The june.fm website does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. Our Services do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
